Hungary   Budapest is the home of 125 thermal springs
Budapest is the home of 125 thermal springs, some of them are dating back to Roman times, some are very modern with all amenities you can ask for. "Taking the waters" is a tradition here so any visit to this city must include a visit to a thermal spa or it's a visit lost.

Here there are baths for men or women only. This is a tradition from the ancient times and it's still alive today because some people feel more relaxed among their own gender and some don't care are women or men around them. There are also mixed days and there are baths always open for both sexes.

Some baths offer a full range of medical treatments and massage and pedicure. Not to mention red wine bath. So, there is something for everyone and every occasion. Locals, especially, retirees, visit the baths regularly even in winter time playing chess in the steaming water and sharing the latest gossip.

Szechenyi Bath, located in the City Park built in Neo-Baroque style, is the biggest and most popular of all the thermal baths in Budapest. With its 15 indoor baths and 3 grand outdoor pools with water ranging from nice and comfortable to hot 38°C, it is one of the biggest natural hot spring spa baths in Europe too.

Szechenyi Bath is open every single day throughout the year, including national holidays. Soak in the spring waters day and night, summer or winter, and book a massage in advance to enhance the effectiveness of the waters’ healing powers.

Try the whirlpools, the water jets, the underwater aqua massage, and explore the labyrinth of the palace hiding 18 pools.

Besides the outdoor and indoor geothermal pools, you can enjoy the saunas, the gym, relax by the pools with some beer, wine or even taste the natural waters that supply the pools from over 1000 meters below the surface.

Don't miss a visit to an outdoor pool when snow falls during winter months. A magical experience.
