WestJet, Air France and KLM announced the redemption phase of their reciprocal frequent flyer agreement.
Air travel Flying Blue Miles and WestJet dollars
Members of WestJet Rewards can now redeem WestJet dollars on Air France-KLM destinations in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
Members of Air France-KLM's Flying Blue program can now redeem their Flying Blue Miles to WestJet destinations throughout Canada, the U.S., Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America.
In the meantime, on April 1, 2018, Flying Blue will launch a revamped loyalty programme.
Travelers will earn Miles for each €1 spent on flight tickets marketed as AIR FRANCE, KLM, JOONor HOP! (excl. government-imposed taxes and fees), including extra options such as more comfortable seating, extra baggage and “A la Carte” menus on board.
Travelers will keep their membership level or move on up to the next by gaining XP (Experience Points). The number of XP depends on their flight type and cabin class. The further they fly, and the higher their cabin class, the more XP travelers will get.
As of June 2018, travelrs can book any available seat on board with AIR FRANCE, KLM, JOON, and HOP! and Transavia with Miles. The number of Miles needed depends on origin, destination and date of their flight. And instead of using just Miles, they will also be able to pay in cash for up to 25% of your reward ticket with Miles & Cash. ■
