Chocolate Festival In Obidos
Europe   Portugal’s oldest and most prestigious event of its kind

The small medieval town of Obidos, on the coast north of Lisbon, will turn into a Willy Wonka wonderland from 25 April to 5 May.

With chocolate sculptures, chocolate competitions, even a chocolate house for kids and, of course, plenty of chocolate to sample and buy, this picturesque walled city is turned into a fantasy of cocoa and fudge.

Chocolate tastings, chocolate culinary delights, classes, and other activities make this festival a fun day for the whole family.

The theme for 2019 is “Chocolate and Sports!” Expect amazing chocolate sculptures of sports heroes and activities incorporating the dark delicacy in activities and games.

The program for 2019 includes many chocolate and sweets workshops and lectures.

There is also a chocolate sculpture exhibition, and you can actually watch Chef Abner Ivan construct his chocolate sculpture. Kids can play in the chocolate house and everyone can attend the chocolate party.
