At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic Newlyn Art Gallery came up with an interesting idea. They invited people of any age and at any location, to document their life during lockdown on postcards.

They asked them to use any medium that would work on an A5 postcard to share some of their new routines or talents they discovered, objects in their home that have become all too familiar, or whatever it is that they were looking forward to when the lockdown restrictions were relaxed.

And submissions came from far away places! From all over Cornwall, the UK, Europe to the Far East and the United States.

Artists have also been responding, creating posters and billboards for public sites across the UK. So they have brought together many of the most pertinent for a display facing out from the gallery garden.

If you are intested to join the project, the submission date for postcards is 12 September, so there are still a few days left for you to send your work and be a part of that creative event.
