Children’s Design Week
Finland   All the rooms at the Annantalo are open for children and families

For the first time, the Children’s Design Week will be held at Annantalo, where kids can enter the Design Exploration designed by Etana Editions and SuoMu, the Finnish Association of Design Learning, and take part in fun exercise tracks.

The second-floor exhibition space will be used to develop solutions and build machines that make the world a better place.

The various workshops offer ways to utilize recycled materials and encourage kids to find solutions for a more sustainable world.

At Annantalo, kids can invent and build machines of scrap equipment, design and make lamps of recycled materials, and explore colors using authentic test tubes and pipettes, or learn about clothing and textile repair while co-creating a wall rug.

Children’s Design Week’s main event is held during the weekend of 14-15 September when all the rooms at the Annantalo are open for children and families.

The weekday program is especially targeted to schools and kindergartens, but there are also workshops and things to do for everyone.

Helsinki Design Week’s this year’s theme is the Learning Climate and Children’s Design Week will also focus not only on future issues but also on the environment and climate.

At Annantalo yard, you will learn about the urban environment and environmental protection. During this summer, the Annantalo yard will have a community garden for all Helsinki residents, which will be managed in the farmsteads.

When: 9.–16.9.2019, from 8am to 8pm and during the weekend from 10am to 4pm
Where: Annankatu 30, Annankatu 30 Helsinki
