Southern Gothic
America   This immersive production welcomes you to wander around

It’s 1961. Ashford, Georgia. Tom Collins is the drink of choice. Dean Martin’s on the radio. Everyone’s driving a Cadillac, and Suzanne Wellington is about to turn 40.

Four couples gather to celebrate the big day — old college buddies who’ve known one another for decades. But even best friends keep secrets, and over the course of this evening's party, a few of those are bound to be revealed...

With just 30 audience members per performance, this immersive production welcomes you to wander about the "set" at your own leisure. You'll act as a fly on the wall, overseeing all the juicy drama unfold up close. With Southern Gothic, we welcome you to choose your own adventure.

Every guest of Southern Gothic will be offered small cocktail samplings throughout the play (as they are served to the characters in the play).

You will receive 3-4 tastings throughout the play, which together will equal about one regularly sized drink. Additionally, party snacks (think pretzels and chips, 1960-style) will be available throughout the show.

The bar and theater opens 30 minutes before showtime. It will also remain open after the performance, and the cast welcomes you to stick around to mingle with thm and creative team.

Good to know:
The show is 100 minutes, with no intermission. In order to give you a realistic experience, you will be served the same light appetizers and tastings of cocktails that our “party guests” are served throughout the evening.

It’s entirely up to you where and when you move throughout the space! But we recommend following one story line or character, to give your experience continuity. You will also receive the few “rules” we have when you arrive at the theater night-of.

Windy City Playhouse South, 2229 S. Michigan Av., Chicago, Ill.
