While the U.S. Air Force already recognized its predecessor for reliability, the Hawker Beechcraft's Hawker 400XP delivered a class-leading balance of speed, range, comfort and efficiency. It was, simply, the light business jet of choice for corporations, individuals, fractional operators and charter fleets.
The Hawker 450XP has been created in direct response to requests from the many owners and operators of the venerable Hawker 400XP. They loved the aircraft but had thought of ways to make it even better. The Hawker 450XP is the result of their desire for even greater range, efficiency and mission flexibility.
The Hawker 450XP also introduces a fresh, new cabin that truly lives up to the legendary Hawker look, feel, finish and quality. In addition, the Hawker 450XP’s flight deck has been totally upgraded and now features a complete Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 integrated avionics suite.
Highlighting the many Hawker 450XP cabin upgrades are totally redesigned cabin seats that feature “waterfall” headrests and optional seat warmers. The cabin sidewalls and ceiling complement the seats with elegant leathers and fabrics. The Hawker 450XP also offers an unprecedented array of options for the cabin’s layout and finish.
While the tactile interior of the Hawker 450XP’s new cabin is unmistakably Hawker, what really sets it apart is the new Rockwell Collins Venue highdefinition CMS. With true HD video and digital audio, the Venue CMS sets an entirely new standard for entertainment and connectivity. The Hawker 450XP’s totally redesigned cabin will make passengers forget that they are traveling on a light jet. It has the styling, quality, and fit and finish of a business jet costing tens of millions more.
The reason that the new-generation Hawker 450XP outperforms its popular sibling is the switch to the Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535D turbofan engines. The PW535D is an advanced, high-bypass-ratio turbofan engine, which produces full power at higher ambient air temperatures. And more power means greater overall performance.
The new-generation engines also incorporate many of the latest advancements in engine management, including the full authority digital engine control (FADEC) system. This system replaces manual engine adjustments with a computer-controlled system that automatically adjusts for optimum performance under every operational condition. The FADEC system greatly reduces pilot workload and significantly enhances engine performance, reliability and fuel efficiency. ■
