Boeing celebrated the fly away of the first BBJ MAX airplane, which extends the range, performance and cabin comforts of the world's most popular business jetliner.

BBJ MAX 8The BBJ MAX 8, one of the world’s most exclusive private jets, and you’ll find it does virtually everything better than the original BBJ that made its debut almost two decades ago. It’s 19 ft. longer inside, providing room for a considerably larger forward galley, three VIP lavatories plus a forward crew lav and an extra private office in the aft VIP suite, in addition to the typical three-lounge configuration.

BBJ MAX 8The first airplane, a BBJ MAX 8, will now be outfitted with an auxiliary fuel tank, which will enable the new owner to fly up to 6,640 nautical miles (12,297 km) in a standard configuration. Customers from around the world have placed orders for nearly 20 BBJ MAX airplanes, including all three models: the BBJ MAX 7, BBJ MAX 8, and BBJ MAX 9. The first delivery is set for later this year.

BBJ MAX 8Aside from its market-leading range and interior space, the BBJ MAX also features a system that provides a lower cabin altitude, integrated airstairs, and other modern amenities. The Boeing Business Jet MAX - based on the new 737 MAX airplane family – is designed with more fuel efficient engines, improved aerodynamics, and advanced systems. The new technology allows all three models of the family to fly farther and have lower operating costs than its predecessors.

BBJ MAX 8The Boeing BBJ is primarily a 737 commercial airframe with modifications to provide for private jet service. These aircraft usually seat between 25 and 50 passengers within a luxurious configuration. This may include a master bedroom, a washroom with showers, a conference/dining area, and a living area. Boeing Business Jets also has corporate jet configurations based on the 777, 787 and the 747-8 Intercontinental, which are known as 777 VIP, 787 VIP, and 747-8 VIP, respectively.
