The 11 Supreme Court justices delivered their verdict on the triggering of Article 50. Theresa May can't start negotiations without Parliamentary consent.
Exit High Court judgment
Supreme Court justices ruled by a majority of eight to three that Prime Minister Theresa May cannot lawfully bypass MPs by using royal prerogative to begin negotiating the UK's exit.
Mrs May's timeline has always been to start negotiating with the EU by the end of March. Now, her Government will have to introduce a bill through Parliament to start the process. ■
