The poultry ban issue was discussed during a meeting between Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research (MNFSR) Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan and Ambassador of UAE to Pakistan Essa Abdulla Al Basha Al Noaimi, who called on the minister.

UAE has imposed ban on the said products from Pakistan on account of eruption of Bird Flu disease. During the meeting, the Ambassador was apprised of a recent visit by a four-member technical delegation from Saudi Arabia, which reposed confidence in phytosanitary measures undertaken by Pakistan for ensuring export of safe quality food. The delegation had also expressed satisfaction over the quality of poultry and livestock infrastructure in Pakistan.

The federal minister said that there was a great potential of trade between Pakistan and United Arab Emirates (UAE) in agriculture sector particularly in areas of poultry and livestock. Ambassador of UAE to Pakistan said that Pakistan has a great scope in increasing export of agricultural products to UAE because of its geographical proximity with his country.
