Spanish housing sales rose by 13.8 percent in September when compared with the same month of a year earlier, Spain's Statistical Office (INE) reported.
Spain Sales of second-hand houses increasing by 36 percent
Spanish housing sales have been rising for 13 consecutive months on a year-on-year basis.
In the first nine months of the year housing sales rose by 12.2 percent, with sales of new houses decreasing by 35.3 percent and sales of second-hand houses rising by 42.9 percent.
On a month-on-month basis, housing sales rose by 4.6 percent from August to September. In September, 89.9 percent of sales were of non-subsidized houses, whose purchases rose by 15 percent on a year-on-year basis to 27,621 operations.
Meanwhile, purchases of subsidized houses rose by 4.5 percent to 3,090 percent. ■
