Q2 construction work volume in Lithuania increased by 67.8%

Statistics Lithuania reported that in Q2 2015 the volume of construction work carried out in the country amounted to EUR 667 million at current prices.

Compared with Q1 2015, the volume of construction work increased by 67.8%, yet seasonally and working day adjusted decreased by 0.3%.

Over the quarter, the volume of construction work carried out increased by 42.1%, seasonally and working day adjusted – 3.5%. The volume of construction of civil engineering structures increased twice, yet seasonally and working day adjusted – decreased by 3.9%.

In Q1 2015, against II quarter 2014, the volume of construction work carried out increased by 6.4% and was not influenced by the number of working days. The share of construction of civil engineering structures accounted for 49.2% of total construction work carried out in the country.

Against Q2 2014, the share of construction of civil engineering structures increased by 1.6%. The share of construction of non-residential buildings accounted for 35.3% of total construction work carried out, or by 3.5% more than in Q2 2014.

The share of construction of residential buildings accounted for 15.5% of total construction work carried out, or by 35.7% more than in Q2 2014.

In Q2r 2015, the volume of construction work carried out abroad amounted to EUR 48 million. Against I quarter 2015, the volume of such construction increased by 42.2%, against Q2 2014, by 13%.

In half-year 2015, the volume of construction work carried out in the county amounted to EUR 1058 million, or by 7.7% more than in I half-year 2014.
