Portugal wants to more than double the production of renewable electricity by 2030, mainly through solar energy, under Portugal's National Energy and Climate Plan 2030.
Europe Solar energy will play a decisive role
The presentation of the plan, which provides for a total investment of €21.9 billion, the general director of Energy and Geology, João Bernardo, on Monday said that solar energy will play a decisive role in the increase of renewable capacity, with another 0.5 GW in 2015, although wind energy continues to have a predominant role (between 33% and 35% of the estimated renewable production in 2030). ■
