Number of tourist arrivals in Romania increased 6.3%

In November 2016, the arrivals in the establishments of tourists’ reception in Romania amounted to 769.700, 6.3% more compared to November 2015.

In November 2016, the arrivals of the Romanian tourists in the establishments of tourists’ reception with functions of tourists’ accommodation were 78.3% of the total arrivals, while the foreign tourists were 21.7%, weights similar to those of November 2015.

As to the arrivals of the foreign tourists in the establishments of tourists’ reception, those coming from Europe had the highest weight (76% of the total of foreign tourists) and 83.9% of them came from European Union member states.

In November 2016, the overnight stays in the establishments of tourists’ reception amounted to 1651.4 thousand, 0.07% more compared to November 2015.

In November 2016, the Romanian tourists’ overnight stays in the establishments of tourists’ reception with functions of tourists’ accommodation were 81.3% of the total overnight stays, while the foreign tourists’ overnight stays were 18.7%.

As to the overnight stays in the establishments of tourists’ reception, those coming from Europe had the highest weight (76.3% of the total of foreign tourists) and 83.8% of them came from European Union Member States.

In November 2016, the average time of stay was 2.2 days for the Romanian tourists and 1.8 days for the foreign tourists. In November 2016, the net use index of accommodation places was 27.3% on total tourists’ accommodation, 0.2 pp more compared to November 2015.

In November 2016, hotels (35.5%), inns (21.0%), hostels (19.3%), tourist villas (17.8%) and tourist boarding houses (17.1%) registered higher indices of accommodation places.
