China is expected to reign as the No1 player in 2020 with the domestic smartphone market estimated at 500 million units, according to Strategy Analytics.

India, the world's third-largest smartphone market in 2015, is anticipated to outpace the United States by 2020 to become the No2 player, with its market expected to reach 257 million.

The U.S. market is estimated to become the world's third-largest in 2020 with the domestic sales of 177 million units.

Indonesia, the world's sixth-largest smartphone market in 2015, is also set to beat Japan to become the fifth player, due mainly to a slowdown in the Japanese smartphone market's growth amid market saturation.

South Korea is expected to stand as the world's 17th largest smartphone market in 2020, falling four notches from this year amid the market's saturation.
