The government if India has lifted the ban on exports of ventilators, over four months after it came into effect to ensure the domestic supply amid rising coronavirus threat.
Ban India ventilators
Earlier on August 1, the group of ministers on coronavirus agreed to the proposal of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to allow the export of made-in-India ventilators.
Exports of ventilators were prohibited following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in the country earlier this year as there was a concern that there may be a shortage of the life saving machine domestically.
The decision has been taken to allow exports freely as the country now has the capacity to manufacture ventilators indigenously. ■
