In May 2016, 114,800 houses were sold in Turkey

In Turkey, house sales increased by 6.4% in May 2016 compared to the same month of the previous year and hence, became 114,800.

For the house sales of May 2016, Istanbul had the highest share (18.8%) of house sales with 21,638 sold house.

The followers of Istanbul were Ankara with 11,408 (9.9%) house sales and Izmir 6,697 (5.8%) house sales. The least house sold provinces were Hakkari with 5 house sales, Ardahan with 13 house sales, Şırnak with 33 house sales.

The mortaged house sales throughout Turkey became 35,423 by decreasing 11.6% compared to the same month of the previous year. House sales with mortgage had a 30.9% share of all house sales in Turkey.

Most of house sales with mortgage was in Istanbul with 7 350 sales. Istanbul was the first province in Turkey ranking that has most house sales with mortgage share with 20.7%. Mortgaged house sales had the highest share in Artvin with 46.7% of all house sales.

Other house sales in Turkey became 79,377 by increasing 17.1% compared to the same month of the previous year. In the other sales, Istanbul was the first province with 14,288 sales and 18% share.

Other house sales had 66% share of all house sales in Istanbul. Ankara was the second province with 6 852 sales. Ankara was followed by Van with 4 488 sales. The least other house sales was realized in Hakkari with 4 house sales.

First house sales in Turkey became 56,043 by increasing 14.4% compared to the same month of the previous year. First house sales had 48.8% share of all house sales in Turkey.

The most first house sales was in Istanbul with 11,221 sales. Istanbul was the first province in Turkey ranking that had most first house sales share with 20%. The followers of Istanbul were with 4,395 house sales and Ankara with 4,343 house sales.

Second hand house sales in Turkey became 58,757 by decreasing 0.2% compared to the same month of the previous year. In the second hand sales, Istanbul was the first province again with 10,417 sales and 17.7% share.

Share of the second hand sales was 48.1% in Istanbul in total house sales. Ankara was the second province with 7,065 sales and Ankara was followed by Izmir with 4 112 sales.

In house sales to foreigners became 1,612 by decreasing 18.7% compared to the same month of the previous year. Istanbul was the first province with 511 sales in May 2016.

The followers of Istanbul were Antalya with 407 house sales, Bursa with 118 house sales, Trabzon with 89 house sales, Aydın with 88 house sales and Ankara with 54 house sales.

Iraqi citizens bought 193 houses from Turkey in May. The followers of Iraq were Kuwait with 182 house sales, Saudi Arabia with 160 house sales, Afghanistan with 125 house sales and Russia with 121 house sales.
