Greece extends Athens International Airport privatization deadline to October 29

Greece’s privatization fund TAIPED has reportedly decided to push back by a month to October 29., the deadline for the submission of the expression of interest for the sale of its 30% stake in the Athens International Airport.

The privatization of AIA is the first on government’s privatization list.

The state which currently controls 55% in AIA, had agreed to sell a further 30% stake by end 2018.

The Canadian pension fund PSP owns 40%, with the remainder 5% owned by the Greek Kopelouzos Group.

Recall, Greece completed in February the procedure for the 20-year extension of the concession agreement of the Athens International Airport for a total consideration of 1.4 billion euros.
