Colombian output of gold and silver declined in the third quarter from a year ago, while platinum and coal production gained.
Mining Nickel output was little changed
Nickel output was little changed at 19.17 million lb at the Cerro Matoso mine, owned by BHP Billiton spinoff South32, from 19.6 million lb a year earlier.
Colombia's coal output increased by 17% to 23.4 million mt in the quarter from 19.9 million mt a year earlier, the agency said. Colombia is Latin America's largest coal producer. ■
