Capacity of tankers in Persian Gulf port to reach 1.8m tons

Managing Director of National Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization Mohammad Saeednejad said that capacity of tankers of Persian Gulf port will rise to 1,800,000 tons from 300,000 tons by the private sector investment.

Saeednejad said through investment of the private sector and banking facilities, operations are underway to build storage tankers, pipeline transfer systems, fire fighting stations, and jetties in the port.

He noted that thus far, 27 private sectors have made rls 8,000 billion investment in Persian Gulf port.

Kiln oil, gasoline, base oils and tar are among products exported and transited via 10 jetties in the port and 50,000 tons ships rather than 17,000 tons ships will pass through the port from now on, according to the official.

Besides loading and offloading of oil derivatives, fueling of the passing ships will also increase in the port in Hormuz Strait, said the official, adding that the Persian Gulf port is turning to hub of energy and fuel in the Persian Gulf.
