'The record has been set as much in volume as in value. We have been able to reach 1,309,079 million fine metric tons in production of minerals, with a value of 4.181 billion dollars,' he highlighted.

Hochkofler added the Bolivian mining production last year closed with a volume higher than in 2017 by 26 percent.

The Bolivian mineral export operations went up 3 percent in 2018, up to 3.998 billion dollars.

On the other hand, he pointed out that the mining investment, between private and state investment, was of 369 million dollars in 2018, while the royalties for the external sale of minerals reached 182 million dollars.

Regarding this, he recalled that 85 percent of mining royalties benefit the departments, mainly Potosi, La Paz and Oruro, and 15 percent to the producing municipalities.

Finally, the vice minister said that by 2019 it is expected to maintain a rising trend in mining production, taking into account that there is a gradual stabilization of prices in the international market.
