Belarus has suspended the export of light oil products to Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic states, Sergei Grib, deputy general director of the Belarusian Oil Company, told local media on Tuesday.
Grib also said that the export suspension is aimed at completely supplying the domestic market.
The damage caused by the suspension is still being assessed, he added.
Earlier, the Belarusian state concern for oil and chemistry Belneftekhim announced a sharp deterioration in the quality of the pipeline oil flowing from Russia. Belarusian oil refineries have reported a threat of damage to equipment and reduced refining volumes by almost 50 percent. ■
