The move came as the death toll in Iran has been increasing, with the latest official death toll at 12.
Pakistan has closed its border with Iran after Tehran reported casualties from Wuhan coronavirus, official media reported today.
According to state run Radio Pakistan, Islamabad has suspended trade activities and its citizens traveling to Iran through the five existing border gates.
Iraq on Monday closed its border crossing with Kuwait over fears of the new coronavirus.
A source with the Iraqi Customs Department said the Safwan crossing was shut to travellers and goods at the request of Kuwait.
"The terminal will remain closed until further notice over fears of coronavirus," the source said.
Emiratis have been banned from travelling to Iran and Thailand following an outbreak Wuhan coronavirus.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation issued a notice on Monday saying the travel ban was put in place "to ensure the health and safety of UAE citizens" and to stop the spread of the new coronavirus, that originated in Wuhan, China. ■
