An aircraft that took off from Tenerife was forced to make an emergency landing at East Midlands Airport.

However the plane encountered some difficulty and was forced to make an emergency landing - 12 minutes after its scheduled landing time.
AIRLIVE, reported the incident on Twitter and said in a tweet: "The Boeing 737-800 missed approach to runway 27, then declared an emergency due to low fuel before landing runway 09."
In a statement a spokesperson from TUI, formerly Thomson Holidays, said: "We would like to apologise to customers travelling on flight TOM7729 from Tenerife South to East Midlands last night (29th April 2019) for any inconvenience caused.
"Due to a technical issue and as a precautionary measure, the aircraft conducted a priority landing into East Midlands Airport.
"The aircraft landed safely and the flight was met by emergency services which is in line with standard procedures." ■
