Organisers, All Under One Banner Cymru, say it's the first march in Welsh history for independence.

It comes days after a poll for ITV Wales showed 12% of people supported the idea.

Some on the rally have been lifelong supporters of independence others said they have been converted by Brexit.

March organiser Llywelyn ap Gwilym told ITV Wales the independence movement is better organised than in the past but acknowledged the public mood for it was not growing quickly.

Representatives of the Labour party attended as well as the Plaid Cymru Leader Adam Price who said Wales needs to decide on the future in the next decade.

Organisers, who hoped for a turn out of a thousand people, say there will be further events in the future.
