This Friday, the Nicaraguan Police and the Army reported on their joint work against drug trafficking last October.
During the tenth month of the year, the police carried out a dozen anti-drug operations through which they confiscated 759 kilograms of cocaine, 450 pounds of marijuana and 925,000 dollars in the national territory.
This type of operations carried out by the Army, the Police and the Navy are part of a strategy called the Containment Wall through which the Nicaraguan government fights to prevent its territory from being used for drug trafficking between producers, mostly in South American countries, and the large consumer market in the United States. ■
