The huge fire engulfed a fuel station, several nearby shops and vehicles parked on the roadside.
Rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the injured, including a traffic policeman, to a hospital where a majority of them were reportedly in critical condition.
Firefighters succeeded in extinguishing the fire after an hour.
A police officer told media that the area escaped from a big loss due to less number of people on the road as the government had imposed lockdown to counter the spreading COVID-19 pandemic. ■
