Removal of stranded ship from New Caledonia reef nearly completeStaff Writer | September 17, 2017
The removal of containers off the stranded ship Kea Trader near New Caledonia is almost complete.
Shipping More than half a million litres of fuel
Last month, more than half a million litres of fuel had been pumped out of its tanks, averting the risk of a spillage.
Once the cargo is offloaded an attempt will be made to refloat the brand new vessel.
The accident affected a large number of businesses because supplies failed to arrive on schedule.
It is yet to be established why the ship hit the reef. ■
