The Airbus A330-200 landed safely back in Sydney after takeoff, but once on the tarmac, the plane's cabin suddenly filled with smoke, forcing everyone off.

"All of a sudden we did a detour back to Sydney and when we landed, all of a sudden we saw smoke coming up and then all the people were saying ‘evacuate, evacuate evacuate’," passenger Ziggy Annor said.

Video from the flight shows crew ushering passengers to jump down onto the tarmac on emergency slides.

Several people suffered scrapes and bruises from a rough landing, while three needed hospital treatment.
