Among the journalists attacked and threatened is Madelein Garcia, teleSUR correspondent, whose case was presented last week before the Communication and Information Commission of the National Constituent Assembly.

Tania Diaz, who chairs the Commission, noted it would follow reports of attacks against journalists by right-wing deputies.

TeleSUR is a multi-state owned news channel headquartered in the city of Caracas and founded in January 2005.
