Pakistan will release about 360 Indian fishermen this month, with a first group of around 100 sea workers repatriated to India in Wagah.
Asia Pakistani officials informed Indian authorities about the decision
However, there was no information on whether India intends to carry out a reciprocal action, the Statesman News Service said.
Pakistan's decision takes place two days after India sent a note verbale to the Pakistan High Commissioner in New Delhi, calling for the release of 385 Indian fishermen and 10 civilian prisoners in Pakistan's custody.
This is one of the largest releases of Indian fishermen from Pakistan, in an act that many people believe they could reduce tensions between these two neighboring countries. ■
