Japanese Prime Minister Shizo Abe's ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) is likely to score an overwhelming victory in upcoming elections, local media reported.

Despite a series of scandals, the LDP and its junior coalition partner Komeito party are expected to win about 310 seats in Sunday's parliamentary elections, a two-thirds majority in the 465-seat House of Representatives, a poll conducted by the Kyodo News agency showed.
