Two days of heavy snow have caused avalanches in the Himalayan region of Indian-administered Kashmir.
"Heavy snow fell across the region during the second half of last week. This was the same storm system that brought severe weather to the National Capitol Region," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Adam Douty said.
The snowfall has cut off the region, closing the airport and roads. For now the rescuers are able to search for more people, as weather permits.
"There can be occasional light snow from Sunday night through Monday, though this should not significant increase the risk for more avalanche," Douty said. ■
