FedEx plane makes emergency landing in Illinois

A spokesperson from Central Illinois Regional Airport (CIRA) confirmed a FedEx plane made an emergency landing yesterday morning.

The plane on its way to Indianapolis, IN. from Omaha, NE. declared the emergency about 9:10 a.m. because of a possible engine fire.

The Bloomington Fire Department and other agencies were there in case of a fire when the plane landed at 9:22 a.m. CIRA said the landing was safe and they could not see any fire at the time.

CIRA said the plane's captain saw there was a possible engine fire on the instrument panel when they made the call to land in Bloomington.
