A strong earthquake has shaken a border area between northern Thailand and Laos, swaying high-rises in Bangkok and Vietnam's capital.

High-rise buildings swayed slowly for half a minute in Bangkok, startling
esidents. Many online videos showed light fixtures swaying during the temblor. Vibrations were also felt in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The US Geological Survey said the 6.1 magnitude quake was about 10 kilometres below the surface.
It was centered just inside Xaignabouli province in Laos, some 31km from Chaloem Phra Kiat district in Thailand's Nan province, which is about 610km north of Bangkok.
A 4.3 magnitude earthquake occurred today morning at 05.27am in the area named ‘Ereen Nuruu’, 20 km away from Tseel district center of Gobi-Altai province of Mongolia, Montsame reported.
The district’s deputy governor reported that citizens felt tremors, but no losses and injuries were recorded.
Tseel is a sum (district) of Govi-Altai Aimag (province) in western Mongolia. ■
