They recommended that the travelers should be at airports not less than two hours before the plane departure, due to the complexity of the new actions, which include a thorougher checkup of the travelers and their belongings, especially detailed monitoring of the electronic devices.

The measures also include the use of more advanced technologies, increasing the use of canine techniques and establishing additional spots for preliminary security checkup at airports.

The new restrictions are based on specifications issued by the U.S. Department of Home Security (DHS), but they are applied at facilities on Canadian soil, as well as in a total of 280 airports in the world that offer trips to U.S. cities.

The United States and the global community are facing an agile and adaptable enemy to new situations, at times when there is a whole series of threats to the commercial aviation, through new methods of attack, according to a DHS communique.
