Taiwan's two major air carriers, China Airlines (CAL) and EVA Airways (EVA), have canceled all flights between Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) and Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) due to the eruption of a volcano.

In an advisory, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said Taal’s massive ash explosion, which has now reached Quezon City, forced NAIA management to temporarily halt operations at the country’s main airhub, affecting 286 flights in total.
The companies that canceled flights are Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Air Asia, Cathay Pacific, All Nippon Airways, Delta Airlines, Malaysian Airlines, Oman Air, China Southern Airlines, Eva Air, Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Airlines, And Malaysian Airlines. ■
