As world opens number of coronavirus cases explodes

In the last 24h, there have been 106,000 cases reported to WHO the most in a single day since the outbreak began.

"Almost two thirds of these cases were reported in just four countries", Director General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said.

As of 3:06pm CEST, 20 May 2020, there have been 4,789,205 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 318,789 deaths, reported to WHO.

In Brazil, from Feb 26 to 3:06pm CEST, 20 May 2020, there have been 254,220 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 16,792 deaths.

In United States of America, from Jan 20 to 3:06pm CEST, 20 May 2020, there have been 1,477,459 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 89,271 deaths.

In Italy, from Jan 29 to 3:06pm CEST, 20 May 2020, there have been 226,699 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 32,169 deaths.

In Spain, from Jan 31 to 3:06pm CEST, 20 May 2020, there have been 232,037 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 27,778 deaths.

In France, from Jan 24 to 3:06pm CEST, 20 May 2020, there have been 140,959 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 27,972 deaths.
