The latest growth forecast was 0.08 percentage points lower than the previous one made in February.

The statistical agency expects Taiwan's per capita GDP in 2019 to reach 24,827 U.S. dollars, and the consumer price index to rise 0.71 percent year on year.

Many think tanks in Taiwan hold prudent views on the economic outlook of the island.
