Spain's economic growth improves slightly in Q1

Spain's economic growth improved slightly in the first quarter, the statistical office INE said.

Gross domestic product climbed 0.8% sequentially, slightly faster than the 0.7% rise in the fourth quarter. Economists had forecast the rate to remain unchanged at 0.7%.

On a yearly basis, growth held steady at 3% in the first quarter. GDP growth was forecast to slow slightly to 2.9%.
