Poland Q1 GDP grew more than 3.5 percent

Poland's gross domestic product (GDP) in the first quarter grew decisively more than 3.5 percent, Polish Deputy Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki told the private Polsat News television.

"I think we are moving in a very good direction," Morawiecki said. "All economic indicators are actually better than we had expected...

"In the first quarter (GDP) it definitely exceeded 3.5 percent, maybe came slightly below 4 percent."

In March, Morawiecki, who is also Poland's finance and development minister, said growth in the first quarter could come to around 3 percent.
