Malaysia's foreign reserves stand at $96.1 billion

Malaysia's central bank, Bank Negara, said Friday that its international reserves amounted to 425.2 billion ringgit ($96.1 billion) as of April 28.

The international reserves were consisted of $89.5 billion in foreign currency reserves, $0.8 billion in International Monetary Fund (IMF) Reserves Position, $1.1 billion in Special Drawing Rights (SDRs), $1.6 billion in gold and $3.1 billion in other reserves assets.

Its reserves position is sufficient to finance 7.9 months of retained imports and is 1.1 times the short-term external debt.
