Lithuania's industrial production rose 1.8% year-on-year in April, a significant deceleration from March’s 5.8% expansion.
Conversely, the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply category rebounded in the same month.
A month-on-month comparison showed that industrial production decreased 0.6% in seasonally and calendar-adjusted terms (March: -3.1% m-o-m).
The overall trend continued to marginally improve in April as annual average growth inched up from 3.2% in March to 3.5%.
Analysts surveyed by FocusEconomics expect industrial production to expand 3.9% in 2017, which is up 0.1 percentage points from last month’s projection.
For 2018, the panel expects industrial output growth of 3.6%. ■
