At the end of May, unemployment in France went up by 0.6 percent month on month, erasing a 1.0-percent fall reported a month earlier, the French labor ministry said.
France Macron inherited a high jobless rate
On yearly basis, the number of people without work was down 0.8 percent, according to official figures.
Centrist French President Emmanuel Macron inherited a high jobless rate when he took over the position in May.
He aims to lower joblessness rate to 7.0 percent by 2022 from the current 9.7 percent. ■
