Ireland output prices fall for first time in 17 months

Productivity Output prices in Ireland dropped 0.8 percent
The manufacturing industries output price index, excluding VAT, dropped 0.3 percent year-over-year in February, reversing a 1.3 percent climb in the prior month. In December, prices had risen 3.6 percent.
The price index for dairy products dipped 5.0 percent annually in February and those of meat and meat products decreased by 2.0 percent.
Prices for energy products tumbled 28.2 percent in February from a year ago and mining and quarrying prices slid by 7.7 percent.
On a monthly basis, output prices dropped 0.8 percent in February, which was worse than the 0.1 percent slight fall in January. It was the third month of decline in a row. ■
