Greece's public debt rises to 179.2% of GDP

Greece’s general government debt increased to 315.3 billion euros in the second quarter compared to 309.1 billion eurps in the previous quarter.

This compares to 311.7 billion euros in the year-ago period, data from the National Statistics Service showed.

As per ratio to GDP, debt in the second quarter was 179.2% versus 176.1% in the first quarter.

Revenues reached 20.6 billion euros in the second quarter versus 19.7 billion euros in the first quarter, while spending amounted to 20.4 billion euros compared to 21.3 billion euros in the previous quarter.
