Greece unemployment down to 21% in July

Greece's unemployment declined further in July, with the jobless rate falling to 21.0% y-o-y compared to the upwardly revised reading of 21.3% in the previous month, data from ELSTAT showed.

In July 2016, the respective rate was 23.4%.

The number of people out of work reached 1.0 million. The number of unemployed decreased by 10.5% y-o-y and by 1.2% m-o-m.

Job seekers aged 15-24 years old, and women remained vulnerable, with jobless rate averaging 42.8% and 25.3% respectively.
