Greece   Business confidence hit record high

Greece's manufacturing sector continued to grow in April, albeit at a slower pace, IHS Markit said. However, business confidence hit record high.

“Manufacturing sector growth in Greece shifted down a gear at the start of the second quarter, but remained solid given the historical context of the series.

New orders from foreign and domestic clients rose to a weaker extent, which in turn filtered through to softer rises in output and employment,” Markit said.

Markit's Purchasing Managers' Index ( PMI) for manufacturing stood at 52.9 down from 55.0 in March, “the index reading signalled a solid rate of growth in April, albeit one that was the weakest since November last year.”
