Greece's manufacturing sector continued to grow in October despite losing some momentum from the previous month, IHS Markit said.

“Buoyed by robust demand conditions, firms took on additional workers in October, thereby extending the current period of job creation to six months.
“Moreover, the rate of expansion quickened and was among the sharpest recorded since data collection began in May 1999,” Markit said.
Markit's Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) for manufacturing stood at 52.1 in October, slightly down from 52.8 in September, but still above 50.0 no-change threshold for the fifth straight month.
“Although down slightly from 52.8 in September, the latest reading of 52.1 remained indicative of a solid overall rate of growth,” Markit said. ■
