Operating conditions for Greek manufacturers worsened further in May, survey results from Markit showed.

The Purchasing Managers' Index for manufacturing fell to 48.4 in May from 49.7 in April.

The health of the Greek manufacturing sector has deteriorated in each of the past four months, with the latest headline figure being the joint-lowest since November 2015.

Behind the downturn was another solid drop in new order intakes, which contracted at the fastest pace since September 2015. Meanwhile, output slipped back into decline and job shedding was evident for the first time in three months.
